DESCRIPTION:Hi Neighbors – \nA few neighbors are putting together a rafting trip with the Nantahala Outdoor Center(NOC) to the Chattooga River. The day trip is scheduled for 25 August 2022 and we will be doing the Chattooga River Rafting: Section IV (with Lunch). https://noc.com/trips/chattooga-river-rafting-section-iv/\n\nA bit about the trip:\n \n– Chattooga Section IV is an exciting trip for any skill level\, but geared towards those looking for a higher level of adventure\, with a minimum age requirement of 12 and up.\n– this is a guided trip\, so our NOC elite guides will navigate us through more technical whitewater including the infamous Five Falls\, a 1/3 mile of Class IV-V rapids.\n– we will enjoy breaks throughout the day with swimming holes and a riverside lunch.– The Chattooga River was designated a wild and scenic river\, giving paddlers spectacular views through the entire trip.\n– Not including our drive time to and from (1hr 40 min @ way)\, the trip will last approximately 5-6 hours\, with 4 hours on the river and the rest on trip preparation and shuttle – so it will be a full day.\n\nCost – $130 per person\n\n\nAll participants must be at least 12 years of age or older and capable of carrying rafts & gear 1/4 mile to and from the river on an inclined trail. While most of our guests have no prior experience\, this is a strenuous trip that does require a spirited sense of adventure. It is not recommended for those with a Body Mass Index greater than 40. For your safety\, you must be an active and effective paddler in the raft(can’t just sit in the raft)\, capable of acting on NOC guide instructions. \nAll minors (17 and under) require the presence of an adult during whitewater rafting activities. \n\n\nDepending on how much interest we get will determine car pooling arrangements. More to follow for those that show interest.\n\n\nIf you would like to participate PLEASE REPLY to this email by 6 JULY. We will be booking the trip soon after that.\n\n\nNote: this is not a Social Committee or HOA Board activity\, just some neighbors getting together for a fun adventurous day.
